Linda Perry’s column: Retail Volunteer Celebration Events

Friday 28 July 2017

Last month we held 2 volunteer events, to give a special thank you to more than 530 of our retail volunteers who support us in our Chestnut Tree House shops, and our retail distribution warehouse.

One event was held at Clapham and Patching Village Hall and the other was held at Chestnut Tree House itself. Volunteers were able to walk around the beautiful grounds and visit the Woodland Walk.

There are 229 volunteers in our 11 shops and 25 volunteers in our retail distribution warehouse

The purpose of the events were to thank and acknowledge the work of all volunteers and specifically retail volunteers, to demonstrate what their work in the shops has achieved, to better understand how this contributes to our work and to acknowledge long-service achievements.

We also celebrated a milestone – making a profit of over £1 million for the hospice with the help of our wonderful volunteers. How fantastic!

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to give a presentation, updating our volunteers on what is going on at Chestnut Tree House, and to thank everyone for their amazing contribution – we are so grateful for your support.
