Our Chestnut Tree House shop in North Street, Chichester, has another fantastic Christmas window display this year, with knitted carol singers and snowmen delighting customers and passers-by.
Local resident and Chestnut Tree House supporter, Rosie Turner, known as “Granny Rosie”, has kindly donated these wonderful hand knitted characters to us. They make a delightful festive display in our Chichester shop window.
Granny Rosie has been knitting in aid of Chestnut Tree House for several years. Last year her hand-knitted ski-ing Santas featured in the Christmas window and she also knitted the Queen and her corgis, for our ‘best of British’ themed shop birthday celebrations for the shop’s first birthday.
Rosie, who is 87 and well known locally as the piano player for the Bosham Old Timers (BOTS), is the mother-in-law of local author and supporter, Kate Mosse.
Chestnut Tree House Shop Manager, Emily Ashworth said, ‘It is wonderful that Granny Rosie knits these delightful characters for us, and our window displays attract lots of interest from passers-by and customers. They are a delight and something for everyone to enjoy. We have already received lots of generous donations in appreciation of this Christmas display.”
The shop sells a variety of clothes and other items, many ideal as Christmas gifts, so come along to have a look at the window, do some Christmas shopping and help raise funds for local children with life-shortening conditions.
