Calling all runners!

Whether you have a guaranteed place in the London Marathon, are looking for a place in the British 10K or BUPA London 10K or are taking part in any organised race, then why not think about running for your local children's hospice?

Chestnut Tree House, located near Arundel, is the children's hospice for the whole of Sussex and cares for children and young people with life-limited and life-threatening illnesses. They are always looking for keen runners or supporters who are up for a challenge to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for the hospice.

Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family. The Community Team provides care in the family's own home, support for siblings and organises activities and outings. Families can stay at the hospice for a short break and use the fantastic facilities including the multi-sensory room and hydrotherapy pool. Chestnut Tree House allows children and young people to enjoy experiences they might not otherwise be able to have, gives parents and carers a much-needed break and allows families to spend precious time together.

The hospice costs approximately £2 million per year to run. Families are not charged for their care and the hospice receives hardly any government funding at all, so it relies completely on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.

The hospice's Events Team would be delighted to hear from runners with their own places throughout Sussex who would like to get involved with Chestnut Tree House. In return, they can offer support and advice on fundraising and even supply eye-catching running vests free of charge.

I am amazed and humbled by the fantastic care that Chestnut Tree House are providing to around 170 local children and families. It's a great cause and it's local so you can see for yourself that any money you raise will go directly towards helping children and young people in your community. So what are you waiting for? Call 01903 871817 today and sign yourself up as part of the Chestnut Tree House Running Team!

Thank you.
