If you are involved with a Charitable Trust
Here at Chestnut Tree House we are delighted to have benefited from the amazing generosity of many Charitable Trusts and Foundations to support a wide range of different activities and services which form part of everyday life at the hospice.
Whatever the size of the gift, each one is equally important to us and means that year on year we can continue to provide care for the many life-limited children and families for whom we care.
In addition to providing funds for the purchase of specialist items of equipment, our day to day work has also benefited from the generosity of the trustees of Charitable Trusts and Foundations, with recent examples including:
- Funding our Play Therapist for three years. She will work with the children using play as a way of enabling the children to express their emotions.
- Providing funds to develop a Community Nursing service in south east Hampshire, an area which previously had no such support. This is now allowing children and families to benefit from short periods of care in their own homes.
- Assisting with the purchase of new beds to ensure that when staying at Chestnut Tree House each child has a bed which is most suited to their individual needs.
- Meeting the cost of providing care for life-limited children staying at the hospice.
- Funding the purchase of a range of equipment and toys to be used in our Hydrotherapy Pool, thereby ensuring the children gain the maximum pleasure from using this wonderful facility.
- Supporting our Music Therapist who will use music as a way of allowing the children to express themselves.
Below are the areas of work where we are currently most in need of support and would welcome your assistance:
- Caring for a child staying at Chestnut Tree House, helping them to enjoy their stay and to participate in a range of fun and therapeutic activities - £1,974 for a 3 night stay.
- A Remembrance evening where bereaved parents can join with other families and members of our staff to remember those children who are sadly no longer with us. Three events are held each year, including a special service at Christmas - £800 per event.
- A Day Care session at the hospice, allowing us to care for the child so mum and dad can have a break from caring for their child. Whilst at Chestnut Tree House, the child will have the opportunity to enjoy all the wonderful facilities we have to offer - £201 per visit.
- A four hour visit at home from one of our Community Nurses, allowing mum and dad to have a short break from the exhausting demands of caring for their child - £157 per visit.
- To allow a child to spend time in our Hydrotherapy Pool where the warm water will help to ease aching joints and muscles and give them complete freedom of movement. It's also great fun - £50 per session.
If you are a trustee of a Charitable Trust or Foundation and would like to help with one of the above areas or would like to discuss other opportunities to support Chestnut Tree House then we would love to hear from you.
Andy Perry, our Fundraising Development Manager, is dedicated to meeting the needs of Charitable Trusts and Foundations and would welcome the opportunity to talk with you or to meet with you at the hospice. Andy's contact details are as follows:
