All 36 students of Links College, Littlehampton, have been involved in a week of fundraising for Chestnut Tree House and are on target to raise £500.
They have cleaned up 8 miles of beach between Littlehampton and Worthing and filled nearly 50 rubbish bags! The college also had some young trees they couldn't use so they donated them to be used in the gardens of Chestnut Tree House and to round off the week they held a cake and craft stall at the College.
Doug Thomas and Dan Aze, along with all the staff, are very proud of the students commitment to this project. The College is a short stay school for students from along the Sussex coast with emotional and behavioural problems who have been excluded from mainstream education. Community involvement is very important as the College aims to integrate the students back into the schools.
Denise Thornton, Community Fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House said, 'It was lovely to meet some of the students involved in fundraising for us, we are so very grateful for the money they have raised for the children'.
