Volunteers at Chestnut Tree House give far more than just their time; they contribute greatly to improving quality of life for patients and their carers. They can also achieve maximum job satisfaction and the opportunity to realise their own potential. There are so many ways in which volunteers can help us:
Anyone interested in volunteering must be aged 16 years or over. Registration includes an interview and completion of a registration form and health questionnaire, and two personal references are asked for.
The same registration process applies to volunteers who want to help in our charity shops. We encourage them to have three trial sessions in the shop before deciding if they would like to register.
Chestnut Tree House uses the Criminal Records Bureau service, those volunteers who may be working with children or vulnerable adults are asked to go through this process before they are accepted.
Potential volunteers who have had a major bereavement recently are asked to wait a year before starting with us.
We are happy to talk to any groups interested in volunteering opportunities.
If you are interested, please contact Jacqui in Voluntary Services on 01903 261132 or email volunteers@stbh.org.uk. A list of our current volunteer vacancies can be found below under 'Related links'.
