Pound for Pound

How many of your old £1 coins do you think you could collect in one of our Chestnut Tree House moneyboxes before they go out of circulation later this year?

The old round £1 coin will cease to be legal tender on Sunday 15 October 2017. After this date old coins can be exchanged or deposited at the bank, but shops, restaurants and other businesses will no longer be accepting them.

We are asking supporters to join in with the #PoundForPound campaign and donate your old pound coins to Chestnut Tree House before they go out of circulation.

See how many £1 coins you can fit into one of our moneyboxes!

Collect your pound coins in one of our moneyboxesIf you contact us by calling 01903 871820 or email fundraising@chestnut-tree-house.org.uk to say you would like to take part we will send you one of our moneyboxes.

Or you can pick one up at the hospice or in one of our charity shops.

Then it’s up to you to see how many you can collect!

What your money could pay for:

  • £117 of your would pay for one hour of the services we provide in the local community
  • £50 would be enough to pay for a child to benefit from a swim in our hydrotherapy pool
  • £40 would be enough to pay for a session with our play therapist
  • £35 would enable a child to experience a magical hour in our multi-sensory room
  • £15 would pay for a DVD to enable the children staying at the hospice to enjoy the latest movies
  • £10 would pay for a child’s meal at the hospice, tailored to their specific dietary needs
  • £5 would be more than enough to pay for a minute of all of the care services we provide
