House Helpers

We need House Helpers to give an extra hand around the house, from assisting housekeeping to reception and more.

Why we want you:

We need you to support our Catering, Housekeeping and Reception teams.  You’ll start a session assisting our Catering Team with stocking up supplies around the House and general keeping tidy of kitchen areas.   Our Housekeeping Team will then provide you with some areas for hoovering or light dusting.  In addition if our reception is busy we may ask you to help out, perhaps directing visitors to an event that is taking place.

What’s in it for you:

We will provide you with induction training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training.

Your skills:

  • Willingness to undertake training on Manual Handling, Health & Safety and the Control of Hazardous Substances (COSHH) and the use of specific maintenance tools where appropriate
  • Ability to use a vacuum cleaner, to dust, wipe down surfaces, mop floors, clean the rooms of children and the parents.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work on your own or part of our team
  • Willingness to carry out instructions from staff
  • Reliable and good time-keeping
  • Physically able to carry out allocated tasks
  • An insight into palliative care

Mandatory requirements:

  • You will also need to have been approved by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Any personal grief resolved
