Information about our services for patients and families. Our care services
Without volunteers, we simply would not be able to continue offering our care services. There are many opportunities to volunteer in East Sussex – with fundraising activities, at one of our events, or in one of our retail shops in Eastbourne, Seaford or Uckfield – there is something to suit everybody. So we ask you to please put your Hands Up! and find out more about volunteering for us today.
Even if you only have a few hours to spare, it can make a big difference to the children that we care for and their families. For some roles we ask for a regular commitment, but there are others where we can offer complete flexibility – just choose the days and hours to suit you!
Volunteering is a great way of trying something new, gaining new skills and experience, meeting people and give something back.

We are always looking for people to help out, both at hospice events and community events organised by our supporters, which take place across East Sussex. In exchange for a few hours of your time, you could be helping to marshal our annual midnight walk, staffing an information stand, organising a tombola or giving out medals at the end of a marathon. This option offers complete flexibility – choose one or many events on days and times that suit you.
We have three charity shops in East Sussex, located in Eastbourne, Seaford and Uckfield. We need volunteers to help for a few hours each week sorting stock and serving customers.
We are looking for volunteers aged 18 – 30 to become a Buddy to one of the young people we care for at Chestnut Tree. This will be somebody with whom the young person can enjoy different activities, either within our monthly youth group and community visits, or as part of our activity days that run during the school holidays.
