The children’s hospice for Sussex continues to grow and we are now caring for 300 children and their families.

We have vacancies based at the hospice in Arundel and at our Eastbourne base:

• Staff Nurse (in-house)
• Community Staff Nurse
• Bank Nurse (in-house)
• Bank Housekeeping

Join us on Wednesday 14 September between 10am and 6pm, for drop-in interviews and tours with our staff who will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Retail Assistant Manager (Bognor Regis) – Closes Thursday 25 August

Hours: 28.5 hours per week (4 days out of 7, Monday-Sunday, inc Bank Holidays)
Salary: £11,020 p.a. (FTE £14,500)

St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice in Sussex. Our shops and Distribution Centre provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service. At a time of continued expansion we currently have the following vacancy:

Are you a highly organised, sales focused Assistant Manager who would love to lead our team of our busy Bognor Regis charity shop. If so we are looking for an independently minded team worker who is passionate about customer service to join our team of Managers supported by our Area Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering excellent customer service; managing a team of staff and volunteers; stock control; visual merchandising; liaison with the Distribution Centre for stock; using the EPOS system; daily cash handling and banking; ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure.

Experience in retail, sales or a similar environment is vital and experience of working in a charity shop or knowledge of furniture sales is highly desirable.

Community Staff Nurses (E Sussex, W Sussex and SE Hampshire)

Hours: Full and part time hours available
Salary: £29,650 p.a. FTE

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire.  We care for around 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with terminal and progressive life-shortening conditions. We offer care both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

We understand that it takes a very special person to care for a life-limited child or young person. Paediatric palliative care is a growing and challenging speciality which will utilise all of your clinical and interpersonal skills. With your breadth of experience and transferable skills, coupled with our support and friendly team, we can help you to succeed.

You will be joining our Community Team at Chestnut Tree House to provide holistic, individualised care and to support children and young people, and their families, experiencing a life shortening condition within the child / young person’s community environment. We are looking to recruit a paediatric or general nurse, preferably with experience of working with children with complex needs and preferably with IV, however, training is available to give you the skills required for this very rewarding role.

Advances in medicine and technology mean that these children are living longer, fuller lives. We urgently need more nurses to join our friendly team in order to provide specialist nursing support to more children and young people, enabling them to live their lives to the full – that may be simply shopping or going to the cinema or out on a speedboat.

Our in-house education team will support your professional development providing training and building on your essential skills. We offer a competitive salary with flexible working hours.

Have you got what it takes to join our Housekeeping team at Chestnut Tree House?

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Bank Housekeeping Team at Chestnut Tree House.  You’ll have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts between 8am and 6pm Monday to Sunday.  Most shifts are either 6 or 7.5 hours long and during this time you will be working with our team to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained.

You’ll need to be able to use your initiative to prioritise tasks and ensure that you can respond when situations change.  An awareness of cleaning procedures and COSH would be a useful advantage.

Due to the rural location of the house which is not well served by public transport you will need access to own transport.
