Bank Staff Nurses

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex, providing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We offer care both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

Paediatric palliative care is a growing and challenging speciality which will utilise all of your clinical and interpersonal skills. You will be joining our team at Chestnut Tree House to provide holistic, individualised care and to support children / young people and their families experiencing life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Have you got what it takes to join our Housekeeping team at Chestnut Tree House?

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Bank Housekeeping Team at Chestnut Tree House.  You’ll have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts between 8am and 6pm Monday to Sunday.  Most shifts are either 6 or 7.5 hours long and during this time you will be working with our team to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained.

You’ll need to be able to use your initiative to prioritise tasks and ensure that you can respond when situations change.  An awareness of cleaning procedures and COSH would be a useful advantage.

Due to the rural location of the house which is not well served by public transport you will need access to own transport.

Located near Arundel we are the only children’s hospice in Sussex. You will be working as part of our friendly team, ensuring that the children’s and family rooms, common areas and offices are clean and tidy.  Experience of cleaning in a care setting would be useful, however full training will be provided.  You will also possess good communication skills and enjoy working with and around people.

You will need to be flexible about your working pattern to meet the demands of our service.

Our rural location is not well served by public transport so it is important that you are either a car owner/driver or that you have access to reliable transport.

St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House is looking for a Digital Intern to support the Digital Communications Team.

Requirements:

  • Marketing/communications background
  • Minimum three days per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Registered Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager you will be responsible for leading your team to ensure a high standard of holistic, individualised care to the children and young people we care for and their families.

We understand that it takes a very special person to care for a child or young person with a life-shortening condition. Paediatric palliative care is a growing and challenging speciality which will utilise all of your clinical and interpersonal skills. With your breadth of experience and transferable skills, coupled with our support and friendly team, we can help you to succeed.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse who is a reflective practitioner with at least 3 years’ post registration experience and at least 2 years’ recent experience within a paediatric environment. You will have experience of managing and co-ordinating the care of children with complex needs as well as staff supervision and shift co-ordination. You will be able to demonstrate the potential to develop strong leadership and management skills, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the flexibility to work independently or as part of a team and to meet the needs of the service.

This post will include supporting the ‘hard to reach families project’ in leading a system of change and will include networking, supporting and providing care to families that currently do not access our services. The project aims to reach families that may not be aware or have not felt confident to approach the hospice for additional support.

A full driving licence and access to your own transport is essential for this Community based role.

St Barnabas House in Worthing provides specialist palliative care to adult patients with advanced progressive life-limiting illnesses. Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel works across Sussex providing care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Administrator to cover a period of maternity leave in our busy Lottery Office. You will be part of a small team providing a full administrative support service to the Lottery Manager responsible for the collection of Lottery donations from some 36000 supporters. Duties include administering our Lottery database, undertaking daily financial reconciliations, managing correspondence and processing Direct Debits. You will handle incoming calls, post and email, and assist with the monitoring of our external canvassing team.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of general education and at least two years’ experience in financial/accounting administration. Proficiency with MS Office packages and databases is essential as are good keyboard skills. You must have excellent communication and customer service skills developed within a public facing role and you should be able to work independently whilst remaining an effective part of the Lottery team. Strong organisational skills are essential to meet competing demands and deliver on deadlines as well as handling sudden pressures, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Full driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential.

Are you someone with good knowledge of IT functionality in order to interface with our managers and our outsourced IT support company? We are looking for someone operationally and service focused with the required skills and knowledge to lead and manage the estates and facilities teams which fall under this role.

Our main business is across two Hospices and a Retail Distribution Centre and this role spans all three of these bases and will require some travel between our premises. A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this post
