Retail Shop Manager (Bognor Regis)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days out of 7, Monday-Sunday, inc Bank Holidays)
Salary: £17,210 p.a. (+ bonus)

St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House, the only children’s hospice in Sussex, near Arundel. Our shops and Distribution Centre provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

Are you a highly organised, sales focused Manager who would love to take charge of our busy Bognor Charity Shop. If so we are looking for an independently minded team worker who is passionate about customer service to join our team of Managers supported by our Area Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering excellent customer service; managing a team of staff and volunteers; stock control; visual merchandising; liaison with the Distribution Centre for stock;  managing budgets and targets; using the EPOS system; daily cash handling and banking; ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure.

Experience in retail, sales or a similar environment is vital and experience of working in a charity shop or knowledge of furniture sales is highly desirable.

Retail Van Drivers – two vacancies

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you looking for a new challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for two Van Drivers to join our Retail Team. Reporting to the Manager of the Retail Distribution Centre you will be responsible for multi-drop deliveries across East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, therefore you will need good knowledge of the local area and a proven track record of route-planning. You will also be required to collect and deliver furniture so must be physically fit.

Other duties will include providing some basic maintenance within the shops and will therefore need general DIY skills. You will also have responsibility for ensuring the vehicle fleet is safe and suitable for use, and some weekend duties are required.

The successful candidate will have experience of furniture removals with knowledge of manual handling, health and safety and risk assessment, ideally some knowledge of trading standards. PAT Testing experience would be desirable but not essential. You must be a team player, able to work collaboratively and have excellent communication and customer service skills. Some experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.

A full clean driving licence is essential, as is experience of driving up to Luton vehicle.

Bank Staff Nurses

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex, providing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We offer care both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

We are always looking for Bank Staff Nurses.

We understand that it takes a very special person to care for a life-limited child or young person. Paediatric palliative care is a growing and challenging speciality which will utilise all of your clinical and interpersonal skills. With your breadth of experience and transferable skills, coupled with our support and friendly team, we can help you to succeed.

You will be joining our team at Chestnut Tree House to provide holistic, individualised care and to support children / young people and their families experiencing life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. We are looking to recruit a paediatric or general nurse preferably with experience of working with children with complex needs and preferably with IV, however, training is available to give you the skills required for this very rewarding role.

Bank Housekeepers

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex, providing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We offer care both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

We are always looking for Bank Housekeepers.

We need housekeepers who are hardworking, able and willing to clean to a high standard expected of a hospice. You also need the care and understanding to work with and around our children, families and our staff.
