Childrens’ Christmas parties at Field Place

Monday 21 December 2015

On Sunday 29 November over 150 guests attended the two Christmas parties held at Field Place, Worthing, for children and families cared for by Chestnut Tree House.

The events were a wonderful success thanks to the hard work of the volunteers and staff involved in the organisation of the event. Stalwart volunteer Stuart Upperton created yet another fantastic Christmas mural to set the scene for Santa’s grotto, while lucky staff took turns wearing the wonderful Olaf costume kindly provided by Emma Chapman of the Mad Hatters Tea Parlour in Goring. It was pretty hot inside the outfit but the children were thrilled!

The parties featured music from DJ Paul Batchelor that really got everyone in the dancing mood, while face painter Dee Love created some beautiful festive faces for adults and children alike. The highlight of the evening was the arrival of Father and Mother Christmas. Children and siblings formed an orderly queue to meet the man in the red suit and receive hand selected gifts. Everyone was a believer by the end of the evening! Thanks go also to the ladies at Broadwater Starbucks who donated the paper cups for the festive sweet-filled table centrepieces.

Chestnut Tree House would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
