Linda Perry’s column: Summer family events

Monday 31 July 2017

We are holding two parties for families in West Sussex at Chestnut Tree House this year.

The younger children have all been invited to a Mad Hatters Tea Party for the second year running. With a magical, and ever so slightly bonkers, Alice in Wonderland theme. There will be fancy dress, a cream tea with a crazy twist, face painting, music, fantastic photo booth and games.

The older children will get to enjoy a slightly more grown-up Hawaiian Party later this month. It’s the first year we’ve had this theme and we’re really excited about all the fun things we have in store for the teenagers. We’ve even booked a steel band for an authentic tropical island vibe!

We’re also throwing a party for our families in East Sussex, which is to be held at the wonderful Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne. We have 120 children, young people and their families coming, so it is set to be a wonderful day. We’re having a BBQ so I am hoping for sunshine. They will be entertained by a real Disney princess, dancers from a local dance school, a magician, face painter, balloon modeller and even an Elton John tribute act.

And that’s not all we have lined up for the children to enjoy. There are plenty more activities for them to look forward to throughout the summer holidays, including a Sussex Police family fun day, a day out drone flying, a ride on the Bluebell Railway and speedboat trips! And siblings aren’t left out either, as we also have events at a nearby farm and an activity day which brothers and sisters of the children we care for are invited along to.
