Construction company, Willmott Dixon first pledged their support for Chestnut Tree House in 2014 and the team have thrown themselves into fundraising using a variety of initiatives over the last four years.
These include golf days, a Great British Bake Off event, and their annual two-day Cobham Challenge.
But, for this inspiring organisation, it is not only about fundraising, but offering their time, skills and experience too. The most recent example of this was a Digger Day at Chestnut Tree House, when they brought two diggers to the hospice, courtesy of their supply chain partners, John Peck Construction and Stevens Construction.
The children loved seeing the diggers, and also enjoyed a range of construction-themed activities, including colouring, painting and toy diggers in sand. The day also included an appearance by construction industry mascot, Ivor Goodsite!
Sarah Colbourne, Head of Fundraising at Chestnut Tree House said: “We are extremely grateful to Willmott Dixon for everything they do for Chestnut Tree House. The amount they have raised for us over the last few years is incredible, and without support from businesses like them, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue providing specialist care to local life-limited children and their families.
“I really enjoy working with the team at Willmott Dixon as they throw themselves wholeheartedly into everything they do. The Digger Day they put on at Chestnut Tree House was great for the children and is just one example of how they engage with us as a charity on different levels. It’s not just about fundraising for them, but really getting to know us and understanding what they’re raising money for.”
Last year Willmott Dixon’s fundraising efforts raised an incredible £143,850, which paid for 21 days of care at Chestnut Tree House. At our Snowman Spectacular Fundraising Ball in December, they made a new pledge to raise a further £143,850 during 2018.
Sarah Colbourne said: “Willmott Dixon’s support is invaluable, and behalf of everyone at Chestnut Tree House, I would like to say thank you.”
