London to Paris in memory of a loved one

Thursday 11 October 2018

On Tuesday 16 October, Sean Atherton and his friend, William, are cycling from London to Paris.

Sean Atherton and bikeSean is taking on the challenge in memory of his niece, Trixie, who passed away with Sepsis at just 11 days old. This is the first long-distance cycle ride he has undertaken, but he wanted to do something challenging to raise money for Chestnut Tree House.

Sean Atherton said: “When Trixie passed, Chestnut Tree House took her in and allowed my brother and his girlfriend to visit any time up until the day of her funeral. They were amazing and I truly believe the help and support they gave made their ordeal a little easier.”

They have already exceeded their fundraising target and raised over £1,500.

Sean Atherton_TrixieCaroline Roberts-Quigley, Community Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sean and his friend for taking on this challenge, and the money they are raising will help us to continue helping local children and their families. On behalf of everyone at Chestnut Tree House, I would like to say thank you. We need to raise a staggering £6,850 every day to provide all our specialist care services, so people taking on challenges like this to raise money for us is invaluable.”
