The cost of all care services at Chestnut Tree House on Friday 8 March have been paid for by West Hove Golf Club.
Martin Emery said, “As Captain of West Hove Golf Club it is common practice to select a charity to support during your year in office. After some deliberation I chose Chestnut Tree House and, in my Captain’s acceptance speech I pledged to raise £6850.00, 1 days running cost for the Hospice. My wife and I had visited the Hospice with Jo Moss prior to my decision and I believe it was this visit which inspired me to make this pledge. During the course of my year several events were organised, my Vice- Captain ran the Brighton Marathon and I abseiled down Arundel Castle, golf competitions were put in place to raise funds and I was delighted that at the end of my year we had raised a wonderful total of £11,758. My thanks go to the friends and members of West Hove GC for their generosity and for the support of Jo Moss from Chestnut Tree House. I wish all at the Hospice the very best for the future and my thoughts will always be with you and the tremendous work you do to help the children and their families.”
We have to raise £6,850 every day to pay for a day of care at Chestnut Tree House, provided at the House and in the children’s own homes. It currently costs over £3.9million each year to provide our care services and families are never charged.
A most grateful thank you from the staff, volunteers, families and children at Chestnut Tree House to everyone at West Hove Golf Club for their support.
