Pay for a Day: Anne and Geoff Shaw

Monday 24 June 2019

The cost of all care services at Chestnut Tree House on 30 June 2019 have been paid for by Anne and Geoff Shaw.

Anne & Geoff Shaw – PhotoThey said, “We have been lucky in life with two healthy girls and just can’t begin to imagine seeing your child suffer in anyway.  The bravery and positivity of the children, their parents and siblings is truly amazing, how irrelevant our everyday problems seem in comparison.  As soon as you walk into Chestnut Tree Hospice you see the effort that has gone into creating a fun, caring environment. The atmosphere is one of happiness, of course it would be with staff so lovely and jolly.  We had never been to a Hospice before and to be honest felt a little nervous as to how we would react, how silly are we, it was absolutely awesome and wonderful but most of all inspiring.”

We have to raise £6,850 every day to pay for a day of care at Chestnut Tree House, provided at the House and in the children’s own homes. It currently costs over £4.0million each year to provide our care services and families are never charged.

A most grateful thank you from the staff, volunteers, families and children at Chestnut Tree House to Anne and Geoff for all their support.
