Pay for a Day: Dometic Blinds

Wednesday 17 July 2019

The cost of all care services at Chestnut Tree House on 17 July 2019 have been paid for by Dometic Blinds.

This is why they have chosen to support pay for a day:

Arundel Abseil Team

“Chestnut Tree House was nominated as our Charity of the Year in 2017, by staff vote. Since then, Dometic Blinds have continued to support the charity because of the wonderful impact we can see them making on the lives of children & their families. We have run nearly 400 miles, abseiled Arundel Castle and even put on an Irish Barn Dance in honour of the charity, and we are so pleased to be able to Pay for a Day.

“Dometic Blinds are choosing to sponsor 17 July for our Pay for a Day. The day is special for us as one of our Employees has a special connection to it.

Emma“In 2017, on the 17 July, Tank Thorpe and his girlfriend Jess welcomed their daughter Emma into the world. Much loved, and beautiful, Emma was unfortunately born with Chromosome deletion which means that her quality of life is somewhat different to the everyday child. Tank’s family have been grateful to receive support from Chestnut Tree House in the past, by means of respite. The break allowed Tank to take his daughter for their first swim in Chestnut’s dedicated pool, something he never thought he would be able to do.

“Tank, Jess and Emma are all well and we are happy to say that Emma is now able to be cared for at her own home, but during a difficult period in hospital, Chestnut Tree House were able to provide the family with a few hours of precious family time, doing something as simple as swimming, which otherwise would have been a big challenge. We hope that our continued fundraising efforts can help another family to create more precious memories.”

Ragnar SKYrunnersWe have to raise £6,850 every day to pay for a day of care at Chestnut Tree House, provided at the House and in the children’s own homes. It currently costs over £4 million each year to provide our care services and families are never charged.

A most grateful thank you from the staff, volunteers, families and children at Chestnut Tree House to Dometic Blinds for all their support.
