Look out for a Street Piano this summer

Friday 2 August 2019

If you’re out and about in Billingshurst, Horsham, Southwater or Steyning this summer, keep your eyes peeled for one of the Horsham District Street Pianos, supporting Chestnut Tree House.

Street Pianos being deliveredCelebrating the Horsham District Year of Culture 2019, the Street Pianos are free for all to play, and have been decorated by local primary schools – Billingshurst Primary, Castlewood Primary, QEII Silver Jubilee School, Steyning C of E Primary, and St Mary’s C of E Primary – with the help of artist Annalees Lim. There are five to find, plus an information point piano in Swan Walk shopping centre, Horsham.

Jayne Todd, Community Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House said: “Street Pianos is a fantastic initiative, open to everyone in the community, and we’re really excited to be involved. We hope that the project will help to spread the word about the vital care provided by Chestnut Tree House and the ways we support local children and families.”

The pianos will be around all summer, but there are five official celebration events taking place between 11am and 2pm on the following days:
