Toby and Si’s African Adventure for Chestnut Tree House

Thursday 15 August 2019

Two friends from Littlehampton are taking on an African Adventure to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House.

Africa Adventure 2In a Suzuki Alto, Toby and Si are pushing the boundaries and driving an incredible 5000 miles to Africa in just one week. Their end destination will be the Western Sahara, where they look forward to sleeping under the stars.

The pair will depart from Mewsbrook Park Café, Saturday 17 August 2019 in the afternoon, they will then drive through France, the Pyrenees and Spain, before catching a ferry to Morocco, and finally driving down the coast to the Western Sahara.

Toby and Si aim to raise £5000 for Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for Sussex and South East Hampshire.

Toby Harris, driver of the African Adventure said: “Last year we drove through sixteen European countries in a week to raise funds for charity. This year, we decided to continue with our top-gear inspired adventures and complete a journey that is 2,000 miles longer…but in the same time!”

“Chestnut Tree House continues to do an amazing job in our local community and we are so happy to be able to support the work that they do”.

The charity cares for around 300 children with life-shortening conditions and their families, helping them Live For the Now. It costs over £4 million every year to provide Chestnut Tree House’s care and less than 6% of that comes from central government, meaning that they rely heavily on the amazing fundraising from supporters like Toby and Si.

Caroline Quigley-Roberts, Community Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House said: “For families Now is precious moments that give a lifetime of memories. For our supporters, Now is about doing something important, something that they didn’t think they could do. Toby and Si are making their own amazing memories whilst making a difference.”

“On behalf of everyone at Chestnut Tree House, we would like to thank the pair and send the best of luck for their African Adventure”.

Toby and Si are making this year a year for an adventure. For themselves. For local families. For Living. For the Now.
