Happyjacks Picnic in the Park raises over £1,200

Wednesday 28 August 2019

Happyjacks Softplay successfully hosted their sixth Picnic in the Park recently, raising £1,282.21 for Chestnut Tree House.

Happyjacks Picnic in the ParkPeople flocked to Eastbourne Sports Park on Tuesday 30 July, and enjoyed a range of activities, including football, dancing, drumming and softplay. Parents could also find out more about first aid, saving money on utility bills and baby swimming, whilst stalls, a bouncy castle, face-painting and a teddy tombola added to the fun.

Stephen Lloyd MP opened the event, dubbing it the ‘sensational sixth’ year of a brilliant partnership between Happyjacks and Chestnut Tree House, which has raised, in total, more than enough to pay for a whole day of Chestnut Tree House’s care, both at the house and in the community.

“It’s been as fantastic as ever,” commented Jaki Tompkins from Happyjacks softplay.

“We have so much fun organising this event so it’s great to see everyone having fun attending it. And knowing we have raised so much for Chestnut Tree House really is the icing on the cake. I would like to say a personal thank you to all of the activity providers and stall holders and to James Harris Hire who provided a PA system for the day free of charge”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Happyjacks for their continued support,” says Georgina Cook from Chestnut Tree House. “Not only have they helped us raise awareness of the care we offer in the local area but, over the past six years, they have raised an incredible £6,909. Jaki and her team should be very proud of what they have achieved.”
