Rotary Club donate £1,000 to local children’s hospice

Monday 22 June 2020

The Rotary Club of Burgess Hill & District recently donated £1,000 to their local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House. The club have been long-term supporters of the hospice and make regular donations, including a gift of £600 in April.

The £1,000 donation was made possible by a kind donation from the Rotary Club Gevelsberg in Germany. Many Rotary Clubs have links with Clubs in other countries, and the Rotary Club of Burgess Hill enjoy a close relationship with the Club in Gevelsberg. This was then doubled by a matching District grant funded from the Rotary Foundation Charity.

The donation will be used to fund the purchase of essential PPE items, such as masks, gloves and aprons, to enable our Care Team to provide care and support for children and families. “On behalf of everyone at Chestnut Tree House, thank you very much to the Rotary Clubs for this generous donation” says Jayne Todd, Community Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House. “The safety and well-being of our families, staff and volunteers is always paramount, and this donation will be a huge help. We are very grateful for the continued support of Rotary.”
