Two days of Chestnut Tree House’s care have been paid for by the Porsche Charity Day following the event last year. They selected 26 and 27 November as their chosen days.
Jonathan Trees, organiser of the Porsche Charity Day said,
“A few years ago, I was a driver on a Peter Saywell charity day and got chatting to my passenger. ‘Where are you from?’ I asked, and she replied ‘I’m from the House.’ I didn’t understand. ‘Which house?’ She said ‘Chestnut Tree House… I’m not very well.’ When we stopped, she thanked me and hopped out of the car. I was lost for words for some time. My eyes were filling with tears as I thought about how brave she was.
The next day I decided to contribute to Chestnut Tree House whenever I could. It was whilst chatting with the two other founding-organisers, Andrew and Tony, that made the idea into a plan of running a charity track-day but expanded it into a One-Marque-Meet as well.”
£6,850 needs to be raised every single day to pay for all Chestnut Tree House’s care services, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes and, in these unprecedented times is needed more than ever.
The Porsche Charity Day has generously contributed over £50,000 to date. Everyone at Chestnut Tree House would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the team behind the event and everyone who gets involved. Without the generosity of our community, local hospice care wouldn’t be possible – now or in the future. Thank you.
