A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you who have supported Chestnut Tree House in any way during June 2021.
From wonderful people, young and young at heart, to clubs, groups, organisations and businesses, here are just some of you who have helped to provide vital children’s hospice care through your recent support. We wish we could mention every single one of you! We are so grateful to everyone who has supported the hospice through these challenging times.
A huge well done to Esme from Crawley Down who successfully completed her challenge of running a 2.3km triangular circuit, every single day in May. By June she had raised a fantastic £1,250! Esme, you’re a superstar!
Phew! 8 year old Henry B didn’t rest either until he’d raised a brilliant £60, exercising with lockdown sensation Joe Wicks. Well done Henry!
Thank you and well done to green fingered Tracy W who held a plant sale in her garden in North Bersted and nurtured an incredible £615 from a seed of an idea!
A charity album from the Metallica team was announced recently, with over 50 charities worldwide set to benefit. Chestnut Tree House is one of those charities thanks to local rock duo Royal Blood, who have contributed a track to ‘The Metallica Blacklist’ and named us as their chosen charity. Huge thanks to Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher for supporting their local children’s hospice, you guys ROCK!
We’re also singing the praises of superhero busker Inna E, who dressed up and busked outside the Bognor Chestnut Tree House shop on Superhero Friday for Children’s Hospice Week – to the tune of over £120, thanks Inna!
A huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who kindly helped at Follers Manor Open Garden on Sunday 27 June and everyone that supplied cakes for us to sell, including The Flour Pot Bakery, Brighton. You helped us raise over £2,500. We couldn’t do it without you all, thank you!
Thank you to Lucy and Kenny Tutt and the team at Pitch Restaurant in Worthing for raising £400 through their charity cocktail initiative. The ‘Chestnut Alexandra’ was created and added to the restaurant menu for a limited period and every time one sold, £1 was donated to Chestnut Tree House – yumbo!
As the world slowly begins to open up with the gentle easing of the pandemic restrictions we are very grateful to Mitchell’s Travel – Never Just Coffee (which is opposite our retail shop on London Road in Bognor) for their generous offer of support for Chestnut Tree House with donations from travel bookings, as well as plans to host regular fundraising days in the coffee shop.
Lastly this month (but lasting twelve months in total) thank you to the staff of Brighton based marketing agency BrightLocal who voted in June to make Chestnut Tree House their charity of the year from July 2021 to July 2022. Howdy partners!
Late entries…due to reasons outside our control, we have a couple of delayed thank you’s this month:
Nikki H gave Chestnut Tree House a gift of over £790 by having a birthday fundraiser on Facebook. Thank you to Nikki and all her friends who contributed to this lovely present – we hope you had a great day.
To every My Marathon Month megastar…quite frankly, you smashed it! Together, you ran over 1,000 miles through April and raised more than £7,500! Everyone at Chestnut Tree House, including our running team, cannot thank you enough.
As always, we send a huge thank you everyone who has supported us in any way throughout the last month. If you’d like to get involved for Chestnut Tree House and maybe appear on this page in the coming months we’d love you to hear from you…thanks!
