A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you who have supported Chestnut Tree House in any way during October 2021.

From wonderful people, young and young at heart, to clubs, groups, organisations and businesses, here are just some of you who have helped to provide vital children’s hospice care through your recent support. We wish we could mention every single one of you!

  • At the kind invite from Suzy Smith Racing Stables, volunteer Nicky baked lots of delicious cakes and, with her friend Ceri, served refreshments and cake to over 50 visitors. Those cakes didn’t last furlong, and together they all raised a winning £425! 
  • A huge well done to Jacqueline N who took on the Abersoch Triathlon on 16 October, and has raised an awesome £630! 
  • How do you raise when dropping down? By taking part in our White Cliffs abseils! A big thank you to the brilliant Tim B and Glynda W who bravely took the drop and raised over £646 and £575 respectively.
  • The amazing Sporting Bears Motor Club held 4 days of their famous ‘Dream Rides’ experiences at The British Motor Show, where they drove their fundraising total up to a phenomenal £13,676 for Chestnut Tree House!
  • Adastra Bowling Club in Hassocks have chosen Chestnut Tree House as their Charity of the Year and their first event, a cream tea and bowls afternoon, raised an incredible £2,490. We are bowled over by your support!
  • James and James Estate Agents, of Worthing, organised a children’s fancy dress fun run. They produced medals and t-shirts for all entrants, with 70 little one’s taking part on the day. The event raised plenty of smiles and over £800!
  • Thank you to all our Worthing 10k champions! You had to wait a little longer to take part this year, but smashed it and raised over £3,000. Amazing!
  • You were all absolute half marathon heroes at the Brighton Half. In perfect conditions you ran up a total of over £7,000. Thank you so much for putting in the miles for Chestnut Tree House!
  • Swan Walk shopping centre in Horsham supported Great Ormond Street’s ‘One Great Day’ campaign on 2 October, and invited Chestnut Tree House along as the local partner charity. A fantastic day was had by all, and £1022 was raised, which was split between the two charities.
  • Ukulele group, Rusty Ukes of  Rustington have been plucking up courage and taking to the streets, playing to an avid audience of passers-by. They have so far raised funds to the tune of £260 – thank uke very much!
  • Thanks so much to Lingfield College students, as they have been supporting the hospice throughout this year. They have managed to fundraise a top class £6,494!
  • Thank you to the Mayor of Chichester, Councillor John Hughes, and Chichester City Council for raising £428.37 at their Mayor’s Charity street collection on 23rd October 2021. This was the most they have collected in a street collection and the total will be split between Chestnut Tree House and the Mayor’s other chosen charity; the Chichester Downs Syndrome Support Group.
