Last chance to sign up to the Mini Mile Races!

The Brighton Mini Mile Races will give 7–17-year-olds the chance to experience the buzzing atmosphere of Brighton Marathon Weekend on Saturday 9 April. But hurry, now is your last chance to sign up as registration closes on Monday 21 March.

Starting and finishing in Preston Park, the races will take place on a one-mile course within a race village complete with a stage, entertainment, and food and drink. It’s free to sign up to the event, and youngsters are encouraged to fundraise for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice. Maxi, 8, has already signed up and is looking forward to the races.

This will be Maxi’s second fundraiser – at 7 years old, he offered hoovering, cleaning, and gardening services to neighbours, raising £400 for a charity in Africa. However, this will be the first time Maxi has taken on a running challenge, “Maxi asked if he could sign up to the Mini Mile Races after he heard about it at school one day,” said Mum, Anna. “We are so proud of him for wanting to raise money for Chestnut Tree House.”

When asked why he wanted to raise money for his local children’s hospice, Maxi said, “I want to help the sick children.”

So far, Maxi has raised an incredible £1,705 for Chestnut Tree House, and is looking forward to race day. “If you’re thinking of signing up to the Mini Mile Races, then do it!” said Anna. “There’s lots of support in place from Chestnut Tree House and this has given Maxi the motivation he needs to take on this challenge.”

Ready, set, go! To join the challenge and become a 2022 Brighton Mini Mile Races Mega Star, sign up today: www.brightonmarathonweekend.co.uk/events/mini-mile/enter/. Entry is free, and all money raised by Team Chestnut runners will help support local children and families.
