About the abseil

Abseil 180ft down Arundel Castle’s tallest tower! Climb 200 steps up the iconic Bake House Tower’s winding staircase. Soak in the breath-taking panoramic views of Arundel and the South Downs then descend the side of the epic 180-foot tower to be knighted with your bespoke castle medal. You'll get:

Frequently asked questions
  • Must be over 14 years old
  • Must be under 135kg or 21.5 stone
  • Maximum waist size, measured above the hips 140cms including clothing so that the harness is safe and secure.
  • Head size 60cms including a light weight hat.
  • Participants will be able to invite their supporters to join them at the foot of Bake House Tower on the day. The Castle and grounds will be closed.

Registration closes on 16 March 2023.

Choose from one of the 3 funding options and take your place in history today!

  • Do your own fundraising: Pay £20 per person when you register and  then fundraise a minimum of £305. Register for own fundraising here.
  • Do a mixture of paying now and also fundraising: Pay £100 per person when you register, and then fundraise a minimum amount of £225. Register for mixed funding here.
  • Do the event completely self-funded: Choose to register today and pay £285 (you’ll be asked for a deposit when you sign up – then we’ll be in touch to take the rest of the payment). Register for self-funding here.

We’re here to help you fundraise

Our friendly fundraising team are on hand to help you every step of the way, and you’re going to have heaps of fun in the process. We know that fundraising seems challenging, but our team will have you exceeding your targets in no time!

One of our top tips is to break your target down into small chunks so it doesn’t seem overwhelming. You could ask everybody in your phone book for £1; you’ll be surprised how such a small amount can make a big difference to your fundraising target.
