My Marathon. My Way. For local hospice care!

With the end of lockdown in sight, we know you’re super keen to get back to live runs. My Marathon Month will help you get back out there.

Whether you want to get ready for when parkruns are back, put extra miles under your belt, train for the return of live runs, or just want a challenge – My Marathon Month is perfect for you and COVID safe!

COVID-19 Promise

Simply pick a 26 mile marathon or 50 mile ultra-marathon, then run anytime, anywhere, any way you like over April to reach your goal.

Run on road, off road, or even on a treadmill to reach your goal. You can do a couple of long runs a weekends, or break it down to daily jogs. It’s entirely up to you and it all adds up.

Put a spring in your step this April!

It’s just £10 to sign up for the marathon challenge or £15 to take on an ultra-marathon. All we ask that you try and raise £150.

You’ll get a well-deserved medal to show what a difference you’ve made. As an added bonus, if you take on the ultra-marathon, you’ll get a set of Chestnut Tree House laces to keep you on track.

If you feel a marathon or ultra-marathon is too much to take on alone, or you want to get your team mates involved, no problem…

Take part with a buddy:

You both sign up for My Marathon Month, then split your distance however you wish. We kindly ask that you both try and raise £150.

Take part as a team:

Simply get 5 or 10 teammates all to sign up for My Marathon Month, then split the distance between everyone. With a team of 5 or more, we’d kindly ask you all to try and raise £100. Be sure to include your team name when registering, so we know you’re running together.

Make a difference with every step!

Your support means local children and families who know they don’t have long together have the chance to live life to the full and say goodbye in the way that is right for them.

At Chestnut Tree House, kids can be astronauts for the day in the multi-sensory room, discover creepy crawlies on a woodland walk, or form their very own pop group in the music room.

It is a place where parents can just be parents, and not carers, and where siblings have people to talk to who understand.

Being part of Team Chestnut

There may be a marathon (or more) task ahead, but we’re here with you every step of the way!

Ask for help

We’re here to help every step of the way, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Along with the Virtual catch ups, Running info hub, Team Chestnut run group and Strava club above, with My Marathon Month you also get:

Where your money goes

Yours and your supporters donations means parents and carers can take a well earned break knowing their child is having fun whilst all of their medical needs are taken care of.

Donations under £50: could help pay for masks, gloves and aprons to keep children, families and nurses safe.

Donations up to £100: would enable a nurse to make a home visit to a child in their own home – providing some respite and support for the family.

Donations up to £250: could provide an hour of fun, laughter, care and support at home for children with life shortening conditions and their families across Sussex and South East Hampshire

Donations up to £500: are enough to give a child a few hours exploring their local community or chilling at home whilst families and carers take a well-earned break

Donations up to £1000: can mean a child can spend time at Chestnut Tree House at the end of their life, ensuring they are comfortable and cared for by a specialist team and their family has the chance to say goodbye.

Volunteering
