There are so many ways you can get involved and support Chestnut Tree House

Conkertober

In October 2018, we are inviting pubs to take part in a Great British traditional playground game – the game of conkers.

Why not join us?

In October 2018 we are inviting pubs to take part in Conkertober! Conkers is a game whereby players use conkers threaded onto a string and take turns to strike the others nut until it shatters.

Could your pub take up the challenge and host a conker competition in aid of Chestnut Tree House?

  • You provide the venue, conkers and string and are responsible for running and promoting your event. You may also like to hold a raffle to raise more funds.
  • We provide you with a guide on how play conkers, competition rules and regulations plus score cards
  • We will also provide posters, flyers and fundraising materials and we will help you promote your event.

What’s in it for you?

  • Attract and retain more customers
  • Encourage closer involvement between your customers creating a community spirit
  • Proof of your goodwill and commitment to your local community
  • Positive PR

If you want to find out more about holding a conker competition at your pub this October, please contact the Community Fundraising Team on fundraising@chestnut-tree-house.org.uk or telephone 01903 871820.

If you would like to get advice on how to run a successful charity conker competition, Lesley at Langham Brewery has kindly offered guidance and advice.

Or, if you are unable to hold your own competition, why not enter your pub team into their annual Bonkers for Conkers competition in aid of Chestnut Tree House.

You can contact Lesley on lesley@langhambrewery.co.uk
