Bridal Shop Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to assist the Retail team at our Chestnut Tree House bridal shop in Worthing.


Why we want you:

We need you to assist the Retail team at our Chestnut Tree House shop in Worthing. You will be working predominantly in the bridal shop assisting the shop manager with fittings and booking appointment. Also assisting with general day to day tasks as and when required.

What’s in it for you:

You will be part of a dedicated team carrying out a wide and varied range of tasks to help make the shop a success whilst helping to raise vital funds for your local hospice.

We will provide you with induction training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training.

Your skills:

  • A willingness to learn (Some of these skills you will already have and some may require training, which we will provide for you)
  • Ability to use an iron or hand press appliance
  • Willing to uphold shop standards through various cleaning tasks
  • Willing to carry out repetitive tasks
  • Ability to operate all shop equipment and appliances such as computerised till
  • Willingness to carry out instructions from staff
  • Reliable and good time-keeping
  • Physically able to carry out allocated tasks
  • Ability to be non-judgmental and accept people as individuals and respect their differences
  • Ability to empathise with the people that you come into contact with
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of our team
  • An insight into palliative care


  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Follow St Barnabas Hospices policies and procedures
  • Any personal grief resolved
