There are so many ways you can get involved and support Chestnut Tree House

Research/Administration Volunteer

We need you to assist our Fundraising Team with research projects and general administrative assistance.

Why we want you:

Administration contributes to a large part of our organisation and our departments would benefit from additional assistance.

What the role will involve:

  • Researching contact details and acquiring name, address, email, telephone numbers, etc from a brief
  • Researching events and ‘what’s on’ activities in a specified area, for potential Chestnut Tree House representation
  • Helping with general admin duties and thank you letters

We will provide you with induction training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training.

Your skills:

  • A willingness to learn (Some of these skills you will already have and some may require training, which we will provide for you including any training on our software).
  • Good telephone skills
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to use additional office equipment including the photocopier
  • Additional office skills such as filing
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work on your own or part of our team
  • Reliable and good time-keeping
  • An insight into children with disabilities and the needs of their families

Mandatory:

  • Approval by the Disclosure and Barring Service (check carried out by hospice)
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Any personal grief resolved
