Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers to help us at our fundraising events across East and West Sussex throughout the year. If you think you can spare a couple of hours, please complete our enquiry form here, or to find out more about volunteering see our FAQs.


Occasional Fundraising Volunteer

Are you friendly, fun and interested in spending a few hours of your time to make a huge difference?

You could be cheering on some amazing runners at the Brighton Half Marathon, selling raffle tickets at a village fair or bucket collecting at a supermarket; there are so many different events you can support starting with just two hours of your time.

Fundraising Volunteer Lead

Are you sociable, self-motivated and enthusiastic and ready for a new challenge?

The Lead Volunteer role is ideal if you can spare some time on a more regular basis. Training is required as we want you to be a confident ambassador for the charity.

In addition to our two main volunteering roles, we also have lots of ad hoc opportunities throughout the year. We are always adding more opportunities, so please check back soon if none of these events are suitable for you.

Arlington Bluebell Walk

Every year the bluebell walk is open for the bluebell season, normally between early April and mid-May. Each day a different charity benefits from running the event. Please note the café will not be open this year due to COVID-19.

Arlington Bluebell Walk (1)

Where: Bates Green Farm, Tye Hill Road, Arlington, Polegate BN26 6SH  www.bluebellwalk.co.uk

When: Thursday 29 April 2021, Friday 30 April 2021  shifts 9:45am -1pm, 12:45pm – 4:15pm both days.

Roles: Three volunteers per shift, to check pre-booked tickets, monitor restricted numbers and guiding through the forest walk, all roles involve a certain amount of standing. Volunteers will be able to enjoy the beautiful bluebell walk either before or after their shift. Out door event, so dress accordingly, no refreshments available onsite.

Where: Knockhatch Adventure Park, Hailsham Park, BN27 3GD

When: Saturday 8 May 2021, shifts available from 9am – 6pm

Roles: Various opportunities to be part of this exciting day, car park marshal, tombola stand, lucky dip, games and possible skittles alley

When: Sunday 13 June 2021 shifts from 8am – 12 noon

Roles: Route marshaling, only one volunteer per station.

Follers Manor

Where: Seaford Road, Alfriston, Seaford, BN26 5TT

When: Sunday 27 June 2021, 11am to 4pm

Roles: Gate monitors to welcome and direct, car park marshals, refreshments, serving drinks, cakes and washing up, tombola stand, garden/pond watch, water monitor, to replenish water bottles and enable comfort breaks. Last but certainly not least: cake makers!

Hailsham Live!

Hailsham Live is an event bringing the community together. In collaboration with Hailsham Town Council and Wealden Council, Schools, musical, dance and drama and social groups will perform to spectators.


Where: Freedom Leisure Centre, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham BN27 2AX

When: Saturday 10 July 2021 9am -6pm

Roles: Staffing fundraising stall, setting up and breaking down. Shifts 9am – 1:30pm, 1:30pm – 6pm. One lead volunteer to manage 2-3 ad-hoc volunteers. Enjoy a variety of music, while volunteering.

Roles: A chance to listen to the amazing voice of Paul Potts in between taking a bucket collection as guests arrive and depart.

Roles: While enjoying the music you will be expected to interact with the public, taking bucket collections, put up and take down banners. 7pm until late

Roles: Volunteers needed for setting up and decorating on the day and various roles in the evening including raffle ticket sellers and auction spotters.
