Discover the types of hospice volunteer roles with Chestnut Tree House and explore the benefits of volunteering with us.
There are lots of different volunteering roles available. Depending upon your skills, interests and the amount of time you are able to commit, there’s bound to be a role for you. Volunteering is a great way of learning new skills so, don’t worry, we will give you full training and you will have a line manager to look after you.
We have eleven charity shops across East and West Sussex and need volunteers to help for a few hours each week sorting stock and serving customers. For a full list of our Chestnut Tree House shops and their locations click here.
There are lots of different volunteering opportunities at the house, including roles that are patient-facing, helping with facilities or with transport. If you are interested in volunteering at the hospice please download and fill in the application form on this page.
We need people to help our Fundraising Team with attending events to speak about the work of the hospice, represent the hospice at cheque presentations and generally to tell as many people as possible about Chestnut Tree House.
We are always looking for people to help out at our own hospice events and community events organised by our supporters. In exchange for a few hours of your time, you could be helping to marshal one of our midnight walks, staffing an information stand, organising a tombola or giving out medals at the end of a marathon.
Have you thought about organising your own fundraising event or activity? Whether you organise a ball or a bring and buy sale, a run or a raffle, we are always keen to hear from people with new ideas. Our Fundraising Team will support you with advice, promotional materials and help you to publicise your event. We also need people to help with street collections throughout the year.
Alternatively, you could join one of our Friends Groups – groups of volunteers who put on fundraising events for us – or even form a group of your own.
