Our children’s hospice provides short term and overnight care services by healthcare professionals to families who sometimes need a break from caring for their child.
There are six bedrooms where the team of Nurses and Care Support Workers provide individual care for the younger children aged between 0 and 12 years. Each bedroom is individually decorated to appeal to children and has specialist equipment including hoists.
Our Young People’s Wing consists of four bedrooms and a communal lounge which have been designed to accommodate the particular needs and lifestyles of the young people we support. We understand that they need their own space, facilities, identity and independence.
Our facilities include a main lounge, computer room, magic carpet room, wet and dry play areas, hydrotherapy pool, music room, multi-sensory room and Woodland Walk.
We have eight family bedrooms, all accessible by a lift. They have en-suite facilities and we have a fully adapted bathroom equipped for disabled use. The families also have their own lounge and kitchenette.
We care for the whole family and their stay at Chestnut Tree House gives them the opportunity to rest and relax in the knowledge that their child is being looked after.
Families are asked to come in prior to admission if they are not staying to ensure the child’s detailed care plan is up to date and medicines prescribed.
