Catering Assistant

Hours: 30hrs – Monday to Friday (5hrs per day, 2pm – 7pm)
Salary: £12,544 per annum (£15,680 FTE)
Closing date: Friday 26 April

Chestnut Tree House, near Arundel is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire. We provide specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

To assist in providing a high quality catering service for the children and young people, visitors, staff and volunteers at Chestnut Tree House.

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • An energetic, hard-working, flexible and compassionate Weekend Catering Assistant to join the catering team to assist in providing a high quality service to our children and young people and visitors.
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate and/or experience in a care environment would be an advantage but training can be given
  • Liaising with the nursing team regarding children and young peoples’ catering needs
  • General clearing, cleaning and washing-up duties
  • Temperature recording
  • Working to deadlines under your own initiative without direct supervision
  • Having a flexible, team-orientated approach

Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.

An enhanced DBS will be sought, if you are successful in this role.
