Catering Assistants


Part-time permanent hours: Every Monday 2pm-7pm and alternate Sundays 9am-2pm, averaging 7.5 hours per week.  Additional shifts may be offered to cover for annual leave and sickness.

Bank: We also have availability to offer bank shifts, which are as and when required to cover annual leave, sickness etc.


£9.50 per hour

About the role

We’re looking for a hardworking, well-organised, kitchen assistant with good all-round food preparation skills to join our catering team.

Your duties will include:

  • temperature recording
  • putting away deliveries
  • working to deadlines under your own initiative without direct supervision
  • having a flexible, team-orientated approach
  • washing up
  • undertake general cleaning duties as directed by the Chef Manager
  • help maintain kitchen, cooking areas, storeroom and kitchen equipment in a clean and safe condition
  • prepare food such as salads/sandwiches/vegetables under the guidance of the cook
  • cater for dietary and allergy requirements
  • mandatory training modules and company Food Hygiene Training must be completed

Your skills and experience

You will need to have a flexible, team-orientated approach and must be comfortable working in the hospice environment.  Food Hygiene Level 2 and/or previous experience of catering in a care environment would be preferred. Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.
