About the role

Chestnut Tree House Children’s Community Service delivers care to children and young people (CYP) with life limiting and life-threatening conditions across Sussex and South East Hampshire. We provide respite care to CYP enabling them alongside their families to enjoy life to the full. At the end of a CYP’s life we are able to provide specialist care and symptom management to enable the CYP to stay at home, if this is their choice.

We’re seeking an experienced Care Support Worker with excellent communication skills for this exciting opportunity to work within the East Sussex team in supporting this service. You will be providing respite care for children and young people within their homes and community settings, this includes clinical and personal care. You will be working flexibly within the 24/7 on-call service, you will demonstrate clinical excellence and maintain consistently high standards of individualised care and bereavement support.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role and requires dedication and commitment to ensure children and young people are at the centre of care.

Although this role is based at our Eastbourne office you will be out in the community and will also be required to travel to Chestnut Tree House, near Arundel for training and meetings and one shift per month to ensure in-house skills are maintained. A car and current UK driving licence are essential for this role.
