Retail Shop Manager – Chichester

Hours: 37.5 (5 days out of 7, Monday- Sunday, Inc. Bank Holidays)
Salary: £19,640 p.a + performance related bonuses

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

Our Shops and Distribution Centre provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

Are you a highly organised, sales focused manager, who would love to lead our team within one of our most successful St Barnabas’s Hospice Charity Shops in Steyning?

If so, we are looking for an independently minded, successful manager who is passionate about customer service to join our team of Managers supported by our Area Manager.

Responsibilities include: Delivering excellent customer service; managing a team of staff and volunteers; stock control; visual merchandising; liaison with the Distribution Centre for stock and furniture; using the EPOS system; daily cash handling and banking; ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure.

Experience in retail, sales or a similar fast-moving customer orientated environment is vital. Experience of working in a charity shop or knowledge of furniture sales is highly desirable.

Location: The post is based in Chichester but involves regular travel to the hospices, the Retail Distribution Centre and to other shops in Sussex. The role may involve managing and supporting in other shops as requested.
