There are so many ways you can get involved and support Chestnut Tree House

Our care

Spiritual, religious and cultural wishes

Finding out that your child may not live the life you had planned for them, and especially that they may die before they reach adulthood, is devastating and life changing. It can make you question everything you thought you believed.

We would like you to feel able to ask our team to care for you and your child in accordance with your values or beliefs, whatever they may be.

If you are a member of a particular faith  community, there may be specific beliefs or rituals that are important to you. You may wish to invite a person from your community to visit you at home, in hospital or in the hospice.

Chaplaincy support

Chaplains are specially equipped to help you to explore your feelings, attitudes and beliefs and discuss with you any questions or concerns you might have. It is not their role to ‘convert’ you to any particular belief. If you see yourself as ‘nonreligious’, you can still talk to a chaplain about spiritual concerns, your emotional well-being and the big questions without being concerned that they will want to discuss religion.

At Chestnut Tree House our Chaplain can be called upon throughout your child’s care and is happy to visit you at home, in hospital or if you are staying at the hospice.

If you would find it helpful to speak to our Chaplain Steve, please call 01903 706374 or ask a member of the Care Team to make contact on your behalf.
