There are so many ways you can get involved and support Chestnut Tree House

Shop and Distribution centre

Chestnut Tree is the children’s hospice service for East Sussex. Each year we look after hundreds of local children with life-shortening conditions, their siblings and families, giving them the chance to live life to the full – for as much time as they have together.

Volunteer in our shops

We have three Chestnut Tree House charity shops in East Sussex and are looking for volunteers to join our team and help us with the following roles…

Sales and Merchandise Assistants

If you are a savvy salesperson or have a passion for fashion, why not join our shop teams? A wide and varied range of roles are on offer to help run the shop including customer service, sorting and prepping donated stock, operating the till and visual merchandising. Full training given.

Collectibles, Media and Book Experts

Calling all bookworms, film fans, budding DJs and knowledgeable collectors! We need your expertise! Come and help us sort and value specialist items, collectibles, books and media. This role is available in both our shops and the retail distribution centre.

Find a time that suits you!

Our shops trade 9am to 5pm* (some trade from 10am to 4pm on Sunday) and have many shifts available:

  • 8.45am-12.45pm* (Monday to Saturday)
  • 10am-2pm (Monday to Sunday)
  • 1.15pm-5.15pm* (Monday to Saturday)
  • 12.15pm-4.15pm (Sundays)

*some shops trade 9.30am to 5.30pm and in these shops the shifts are half an hour later.
