What an incredible day!

Thank you to all the riders who braved the heat and the climbs, all to raise money for hospice care.

The 2022 route

All routes will begin at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea before taking you across stunning South Downs before returning to Shoreham-by-Sea. GPX, TXC and KML formats of the routes will be released Monday 11 July - please contact if you have any questions.

If you wish to register on the day, registration will cost £90. This includes all of the above, plus £50 minimum sponsorship for your chosen hospice.

Entrants must be 14 years and over. Any participant 16 or under must be accompanied by a guardian for the duration of the challenge. Children and guardians must be on a ratio of 1:1.

Route type: all routes are off road and are circular

Start and finish venue: Adur Recreational Ground, Shoreham by Sea

How long will it take? Between 3 and 8 hours depending what route you are choose.

What route files will be availale? We will provide GPX, TXC and KML formats.

When will the route files be available? Two to three weeks before the date of the event.

What bike should I take part on? We reccomend a mountain bike or gravel bike, Ebikes are also suitable, if you have suitable millage for the battery. You will be unable to take part on a road bike.

You must bring your bike and helmet, both in good working order. A puncture repair kit and small tool kit is also advised. If you’d like more hints and tips at what to bring with you, from snacks to tools, visit our cycling information hub.

Your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the event only. Hit the Downs MTB is a fundraising event put on by us and in aid of local people who need our care. To help reach everyone who needs hospice care we ask everyone taking part to raise at least the minimum sponsorship of £50. You can only fundraise for us or our sister hospice – St Barnabas House, and every pound you raise will go directly to support local children, adults and their families.
