Volunteering opportunities

Volunteer for your local children's hospice charity and your generous gift of time will help us keep caring for children, young people and families across Sussex and South East Hampshire

Find your perfect volunteer role today!

Our 1,200 volunteers generously gift thousands of hours of valuable time each year to Chestnut Tree House, and our sister hospices Martlets and St Barnabas House.

By joining our network of incredible volunteers and giving your time, expertise and enthusiasm, you’ll be making a big difference to your local children’s hospice charity.

When Tuppence and I were visiting a young girl, the carer took the young girl's hand and just stroked her hand against Tuppence's fur. The little girl's fingers started to respond and the carer couldn't believe it. They'd never had a response before.

There are volunteering roles to suit everyone

Maybe you're interested in volunteering in one of our shops or at our warehouse, helping pre-loved items find their new homes? Perhaps soaking up the fun atmosphere at a charity event, or helping to keep our gardens looking beautiful is more your thing?

Whatever your experience level, whatever time you can give - there's the perfect role waiting for you.

It makes you feel good when you realise how much money is being raised here. And there's a variety of things that you do - it isn't just working on the till or working in the shop.
