Event fundraising checklist

Make the most of this opportunity to become a fundraising hero!

#1 Getting sponsored

  • Set a goal and reach for the stars: By setting a fundraising target you have something to aim for and focus on. People may donate more to help you reach your goal.
  • Choose how to collect sponsorshirp:
    • Set up a JustGiving page: It’s the quickest and easiest way to fundraise and the money you raise comes straight to Chestnut Tree House. Set up your page. If you need any help- then we have a simple guide to JustGiving to help you out!
    • Or you could download our sponsor form to get started collecting!

#2 Tell your story

  • Be social! Use all your social media platforms to let everyone know what you’re doing – update them on your progress and keep them in the loop.
  • Keep them up to date: Tell your supporters what you’re doing, and what the charity means to you. Make it personal – don’t just ask for donations. When you’ve completed your challenge let everybody know how well you did and don’t forget to say thank you!
  • Don’t forget to tag us too! We love seeing your progress, and hearing your stories! We also have over 37k followers across all our platforms, and sometimes share your posts – a quick way of getting your fundraising out there!
  • Have some fun! Download the Find Sidney donation activity sheet to use for fundraising.
  • Get the word out there. Why not add the link to your Just-Giving page to your email signature? or send a text to everyone on your phone contacts and ask them to donate just £2 (don’t forget your JustGiving link!)

#3 Boost your donations

  • Match funding. Many employers offer match funding, where they’ll double what you raise. Check with your employer to see if they offer this, or a similar scheme.

Remember GiftAid

  • You can ask all your sponsors to gift aid their donation by ticking the box on the sponsorship form or by donating to your JustGiving page, this will help us raise an extra 25p for every £1 you are sponsored.
  • Please note: we’re unable to put GiftAid towards your minimum sponsorship target.
