Planning a big event?

We may be able to organise some volunteers for you to help lighten the load! You can also request to have a Chestnut Tree House representative at your event to say a few words about the hospice. Give us plenty of notice and we can provide you with everything you need to make your fundraising a success.

Interested in press coverage?

We send out stories about the hospice and fundraising activities to the local media on a regular basis, but you can also do this yourself. Download our short guide about how to get media coverage for your fundraising activity or event, including some tips for writing a press release and alerting journalists to your story.

Create your own materials

We’ve created a downloadable poster template for you to use to promote your event, all you need to do is download it and add in the details of your event.

If you’re making your own posters or promotional materials – it’s really important to ask permission to use the Chestnut Tree House logo or photos of the hospice. If you’re a business seeking use of our branding as part of a promotion or would like to work with us in any way, please get in touch. More information about use of content published on the Chestnut Tree House website can be found in our website privacy policy.

Tag us on social media

We have 37k followers across all of our social media platforms! Remember to tag us so we can re-post and get your message out in front of as many people as possible.

Remember why you’re doing your fundraising

It costs over £4million a year to run our local hospice – and only a small amount of this comes from government funding. The rest is all thanks to amazing people like you who generously fundraise for local children with life-threatening illnesses – find out how your money helps us.

Gift Aid form

If you’re a UK tax payer, you can increase the value of your donations to Chestnut Tree House at no extra cost!

Please download our Gift Aid form to find out how you ask your supporters to add Gift Aid to their donation. If you are using JustGiving, the website gives them the option to add Gift Aid. There are some payments which won’t qualify for Gift Aid. You can read more about what Gift Aid cannot be claimed for on the government website.

If you’re holding an event and want to sell tickets in advance then we recommend using Eventbrite, or a similar online event management and ticketing website.

Not used ticketing websites before? Don’t worry!

Eventbrite is really easy to use. You can create a ticket link within minutes by following the simple steps. The service does charge a small fee (this is subtracted from the total amount raised), unless the event is free. From discos to wellness events, there’s plenty of scope to personalise your ticket page so that people know exactly what your event is all about. You can even add images!

Plus, Eventbrite is fully integrated with Facebook and Instagram, so you can easily promote your event to a wide audience with the click of a button.

Top tip: You can always hold a portion of tickets back to sell on the door or in person before the event if you’d like, but just make that clear in your advertising.

For more information or to get started visit the Eventbrite website.
