Collecting milk bottle tops for charity through eco-initiatives helps charities like Chestnut Tree House by raising charitable donations for local hospice care services.
Chestnut Tree House does not collect milk bottle tops, but there is an initiative that recycles the plastic tops and makes a donation to various charities – Chestnut Tree House being one of them.
This eco-initiative was started by churches in Chichester, who are collecting milk bottle tops for recycling to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
If you would like to collect plastic milk bottle tops for recycling, collection points are in the following locations:
Milk bottle tops must be clean, foil and sticker free, they can be any colour but please do not put any other type of bottle top in, as they are not accepted by the recycling company.
The scheme was set up as a green initiative, so please consider your carbon footprint when deciding whether to travel a long distance to a collection point.
If you do not have a collection point near you, please contact GHS Recycling, who recycle the bottle tops, to see if they can collect from your area.
How can I be a collection point?
Do you have the time and space to store about 20 bin bags of milk bottle tops before they are collected by the recycling company?
If you do then please contact GHS Recycling on 02392 670399 or visit their website, www.ghsrecyclingltd.co.uk, to see if they can travel to your area and collect.
What else can I donate?
You can donate clothes, books, bric-a-brac and furniture for sale at our charity shops.
